The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Adam Merrell of Yuma in connection with a string of arsons in Seligman, which may date back to July.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, on August 27th, 2025, just after 3:00 p.m., eputies and Seligman Fire personnel responded to a report of fires off Conquistador Parkway in the Bridge Canyon area of Seligman. This is also very close to where several trailers were ignited by a suspected arsonist last month.
Deputies responded immediately as they were already near the area and discovered 2 campers were on fire in 2 different locations, and in another location, a camper had been targeted but did not ignite. Firefighters rapidly contained and extinguished the fires.
Following a thorough investigation, the 51-year-old Merriell was arrested in connection with the August 27th arsons.
“We will not tolerate anyone who willfully endangers our communities, especially with the threat of fire. The excellent, proactive work by our deputies, ensured a quick apprehension of a suspect. We will continue to dedicate all necessary resources to this investigation until justice is fully served for these reckless acts,” said Sheriff Rhodes.
The investigation into these fires and the fires that happened in July in the same area remain under investigation.
