Man Found Unresponsive in Phoenix Dies

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating the death of Mark Daniel Brendmoen, in Phoenix in April.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on April 13, 2025, at around 4:21 p.m., officers responded to the area of 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road to an aggravated assault. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the 56-year-old Brendmoen, in critical condition and bleeding from his head. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries to treat a severe brain bleed.

On July 20, 2025, Brendmoen succumbed to his injuries from the assault and died. On July 21, 2025, an autopsy revealed Mark suffered blunt force injuries with a corresponding brain bleed. However, the results of the autopsy were pended. On October 9, 2025, the death was ruled a homicide.

Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information to call SILENT WITNESS at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO).
