Man Lying in Phoenix Parking Lot Killed by Semi Truck

Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a collision involving a man who later died.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, at around 3:08 a.m., officers responded to the area of 44th Street and Van Buren Street regarding a pedestrian whom a semi-truck had struck. When officers arrived, they located the adult male in critical condition. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced the man deceased.

The adult male driver of the semi-truck remained on the scene.

Detectives believe that the dead man was lying down in a low-lit area in the parking lot when he was run over by the semi-truck, which was circling through the parking lot attempting to exit onto 44th Street.

The adult male driver was evaluated, and no signs of impairment were observed.
