A former Sun Valley Academy employee, Jessenia Rodriguez, has been indicted on six counts of Sexual Conduct with a Minor, a Class Two Felony, and one count of Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation, a Class Three Felony.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Rodriguez, an aide at Sun Valley Academy, engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a minor student, according to the indictment. The investigation began after the victim’s stepmother alerted school officials to the relationship and contacted the Avondale Police Department, leading to Rodriguez’s arrest on April 16, 2026.
Rodriguez is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond, and a trial date is set for late August 2026.
