A Maricopa County man has been indicted for stealing more than $9,000 worth of merchandise from Home Depot.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, between January and April 2026, Chad Planck entered multiple Home Depot stores across Mesa, filled shopping carts with power tools, and used a “skip scanning” scheme to steal the products. As part of this scheme, Planck would pay for inexpensive items at self-checkout, then leave the store with the higher-priced items he had not paid for. Each incident was captured on the store’s surveillance camera.
Planck was indicted on 44 counts of Organized Retail Theft, a Class Four Felony.
