Fake License Plate Leads To Drug Bust

arrest

Fentanyl and a fictitious paper plate led to a traffic stop that resulted in multiple arrests.

On May 29th, a Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) deputy observed a van in Cordes Junction displaying a cancelled license plate. During the stop, it was determined that the plate was a paper copy of the original plate, which had been cancelled. While the initial investigation was being conducted, a male passenger, identified as 43-ear-old Mario Paddock, ran from deputies but was quickly detained and found to have a felony warrant out of Coconino County.

Deputies then located approximately 2 lbs. of methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, a glass pipe, a scale, and empty bindles along with a firearm. All three occupants, Tamara Yazzie age 49, Margaret Nelson age 53, and Paddock, were arrested on multiple charges.
