The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office concluded its administrative oversight of the 2026 Primary Election early voting locations on Friday evening after early voting sites officially closed.

While in-person early voting operations are ending, the Recorder’s Office will continue its critical responsibilities, including signature verification of returned early ballot affidavit envelopes; contacting voters whose signature is inconsistent with registration records (otherwise known as curing) and the processing of provisional ballots in accordance with Arizona law.

Voters who utilized the ID Verified process at an Early Voting Location will bypass the traditional signature verification process, as their identity was verified in person when they returned their ballot.

Beginning Saturday, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors’ Elections Department will commence Emergency Voting operations, which will be available Saturday, Sunday, and Monday leading up to Election Day.

The Board of Supervisors’ Elections Department is responsible for administering all emergency voting and Election Day operations, including the management of Vote Centers, secure ballot drop box locations, voting equipment, printers, scanners, polling place staff, and the on-site ID Verify ballot tabulation process at Vote Centers.

The Elections Department also oversees the countywide tabulation of ballots at the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center (MCTEC) and posts the final unofficial election results for the July 21 Primary Election at Results.Maricopa.Vote.

With the July 14 recommended mailing deadline now past for mailing early ballots, voters who still have an early ballot should return it by dropping it off at any Vote Center or secure ballot drop box rather than mailing it. Find the location nearest you at Locations.Maricopa.Vote.

All Primary Election ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to be counted.

The Recorder’s Office also encourages voters to sign up for ballot tracking to receive updates throughout the voting process. Early voters can receive text or email notifications when their ballot is received, verified, and counted.
