Today I filled up my truck with gas. $138.75. I hear some f-bombs being hurled on the other side of the pump.
These fuel prices are getting out of hand.
I live in Northern Arizona about 130 miles from my ranch. With fuel prices soaring, I’ve had to think twice about every trip I make to haul supplies out there.
I’m fiscally responsible. I believe in living within your means and making your money work for you. But when a tank of gas and diesel costs this much, enough is enough.
Just a year ago, the diesel average was $3.70 a gallon. Today, it is over $6.05.
The same 25-gallon tank that cost $92 last year now costs more than $160.
That’s money that could put food on the table for my family. It could pay my phone bill. It could stay in my family’s pocket.
Instead, Washington’s war with Iran is making life more expensive for American families.
I expect more from Congressman Eli Crane, and you should too.
Crane has had every chance to end this costly war. Six times, he voted to keep it going, leaving us to pay the price. That isn’t lawmaking, it’s cowardice. And Crane is afraid to stand up for us.
Arizona needs someone willing to say enough is enough when Washington policies make life harder for working families.
Crane has had his chance. It’s time for new leadership.
Jonathan Nez is running for Congress in Arizona’s 2nd District.

Iran was going to create a nuclear weapon and put it on an intercontinental missle. Enough said.
How about Nez et al and all the Indian Tribe Members get together and build Oil Refineries on the Reservations. This way NEZ can’t complaint about Gas Prices. This will also finally show the Indians how to be “Productive Americans” and not rely on federal hand-outs every year.
Thank you for speaking up, Mr. Nez. I’m glad to know someone is fighting on Arizona’s behalf.
Crane seriously has no spine.
Fuel costs are the one thing his district cares about and he can’t even fight to lower them.
I hope Arizona fires Crane for his servitude to a lame duck president.
republican here. i voted crane last cycle but i’m done with him after epstein cover up.. Nez the only dem i’m voting for this year. this guy gets it
Evryone seems to forget that during the Owebama Administration, the Dims were TRYING to get gas to go to $5 or more. So look at the last 10 years as a discount. It doesn’t help ease the issue of the price now, but….. it could be even worse.
Arizona gets its gas and diesel from California. California has closed roughly 29 refineries since the early 1980s, falling from 40 operating refineries in 1983 to about 11 expected by the end of 2026. This reflects a long-term decline driven by aging infrastructure, regulatory costs, reduced in state oil production, and refinery conversions. California now IMPORTS its gas and it increasingly comes from imported finished gasoline—especially routed through the Bahamas, India, and South Korea.
Obviously, Arizona needs a refinery but plans will be shut down by NIMBYs.
You’d much rather have a nuclear armed iran? You won’t need your fricking truck.
maybe you ought to move to COMMIEFORNIA instead
try living in that state under their thumb on your throat
the REFINERS(ones who process said gas/diesel) have LEFT in last year because of STATE LAWS
I say we need to build new massive one in western AZ using CA colorado water to operate it.
pipelines already in place and think of ALL AZ jobs
Wrong my friend. At this point the war with Iran is not the issue. Oil is flowing at prewar levels. The issue is that no new refineries have been built in the U S in over 30 years. Why not you ask? Coercive and costly environmental regulations based on fraudulent “global warming, clean energy” science. I’m sorry for your situation. There will be no quick fix and voting Crane out will do nothing to solve your problems and may very well add to them.
Why is this free advertisement being published in the Arizona Daily Independent?? Yes, gas prices suck, but they don’t suck as much as they would if the tax and spend democrats were in power – guys like Nez. Democrats support shutting down refineries, restricting where energy companies can drill and not building pipelines to move energy where it’s needed. They also support green energy scams, and forcing you to pay for it through subsidies and rebates. Don’t believe Jonathan Nez, he speaks with a forked tongue.
