The Scottsdale Police Department has confirmed that the MLB’s lone National Anthem kneeler, Bruce Maxwell, of the Oakland Athletics was arrested on October 28, 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m. at his Scottsdale residence. Police responded to his residence after receiving a call about him pointing his gun at a female food delivery person.
“The victim in this case was a food delivery worker who stated that he pointed a gun at her. He was booked on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Disorderly Conduct. He was held in-custody awaiting his Initial Appearance. It is unknown when he will see a judge,” advised Sgt. Ben Hoster, Public Information Officer with the Scottsdale Police Department.
Maxwell earlier this month claimed that he was denied service by a waiter in his home state of Alabama because of his decision to take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem. The waiter denied his claims and said that he had not known about Maxwell or his decision to protest.
