I stand by my comments earlier today, I highly recommend Jeff Flake resign following today’s comments on the Senate floor.

After Senator Jeff Flake took to the Senate floor on Wednesday morning to bash President Donald Trump, in which he compared Trump to the vicious Soviet dictator Josef Stalin, former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arapio called for him to resign.
Last week, Arpaio announced his intention to run for the seat soon to be vacated by Flake. Flake decided not to seek re-election when it became clear that he lacked support.
Since he announced his decision, Flake has lashed out at Trump and other Republicans, claiming that they are not true conservatives.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said Flake’s speech was not motivated by conservative principles but by his low poll numbers.
“He’s not criticizing the president because he’s against oppression,” said Sanders, “he’s criticizing the president because he has terrible poll numbers and he is, I think, looking for some attention.”
In October, a Morning Consult poll showed that Flake and Arizona Senator John McCain were among the three least popular senators in the country.
