U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforces federal laws governing border control, customs, trade and immigration to promote homeland security and public safety. ICE was created in 2003 through a merger of the investigative and interior enforcement elements of the former U.S. Customs Service and the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
The final vote was 244-35, with 133 Democrats voting present.
Both Rep. Sinema and Rep. O’Halleran voted in favor of the resolution. The two liberal representatives have been forced to vote with Republicans during this election cycle in order to preserve their political futures.
Ice agents successfully seize deadly drugs plaguing our communities, rescue victims from dangerous circumstances, and deport terrorists and other criminals from the US. I proudly #StandwithICE

The recent misguided call to abolish @ICEgov completely ignores the American people’s demand to secure our border and enforce our immigration laws. ICE performs a key law enforcement function. Without ICE criminals would cross our border with even more ease. pic.twitter.com/g57mYzEdz3

ICE agents daily put their lives on the line in protection of Americans around the country. Congress must give them the resources they require to do their jobs, instead of partisan attacks from Democrats. I am grateful for these men & women who help maintain Americans’ security.

Today, the House of Representatives passed H.Res. 990 to support the officers and personnel who carry out the important mission of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. I was pleased to vote YES. #StandWithICE pic.twitter.com/rFxkd8ei7Y

Today, House Republicans voted to #StandWithIce. @ICEgov agents combat terrorism, human trafficking, drug smuggling and gang activity. Last year alone, ICE arrested 4,818 transnational gang members and seized over 980,000 pounds of narcotics. ICE is critical to American safety. pic.twitter.com/MWnt7OKN1r

Today @HouseGOP passed a resolution that I cosponsored reaffirming our support for @ICEgov and secured borders, while most Democrats ignored an opportunity to support the men and women of ICE who enforce our laws and keep our nation safe. #IStandWithIce
