American women smuggling fentanyl strapped to their bodies nabbed at border

SMUGGLERS USED DUCT TAPE TO CONCEAL DEADLY DRUG TO THEIR WAISTS

TUCSON – Two American women, 18 and 20 years old,were apprehended by Customs and Border Protection agents at the Port San Luis pedestrian crossing Tuesday morning within a few minutes of each other as they attempted to smuggle the deadly drug fentanyl into the United States from Mexico, .

Both of the women were referred for secondary inspections after a narcotics sniffing K-9 alerted agents to the smuggling attempts, said a release from CBP Arizona.

The women, who used duct tape wound around their waists to conceal their narcotic caches, were carrying almost one-quarter pound of fentanyl, with a street value of about $53,000.

Bothe of the women were arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations for prosecution.
