Few Arizonans were surprised that Tucson made it as one of the top 12 deadliest U.S. cities. The cities have set historical murder records in 2021, according to the New York Post.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania came in at number one followed by Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; Louisville, Kentucky; St Paul, Minnesota; Portland, Oregon; Tucson, Toledo, Ohio; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Austin, Texas; Rochester, New York and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Apart from the deadly violence, all of the top cities have another thing in common – all are led by Democrat mayors.

According to FBI data, on a national level, homicides rose by about 30% in 2020 compared to the previous year.
“The Tucson crime rate is 3,960 crimes per capita compared to the national average of 2,580 crimes per capita. There are 688 violent crimes and 3,272 property crimes per 100,000 residents in Tucson,” according to Best Living Spaces.
