Phoenix police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Wednesday in the area of 23rd Avenue and Rose Garden Lane.
Phoenix police officers were dispatched to a check welfare call at an apartment in the area of 21000 North 23rd Avenue. When they arrived, they found a teenaged male with a gunshot wound. The teen did not survive his injuries and was pronounced at the scene.
An adult female was also located with a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. She remains at the hospital in critical condition.
What led up to the shooting is part of an ongoing investigation.
