It appears that a campaign staffer for GOP Maricopa County Attorney candidate Gina Godbehere has a deep distaste for mainstream Republican policies and leadership, especially former President Donald Trump and his supporters, Senate candidate and former gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, and Republican voters in general.

That staffer, Jeb Blann — pronouns “he/him,” according to his LinkedIn bio — has been a self-employed man for decades, most recently with an outfit called Savage Beast Marketing. We reached out to Blann for clarity on his role with Godbehere’s campaign, but we didn’t receive an answer.

Over the years, Blann has had a lot to say about Republican voters and leaders. Blann called Lake a “grifter” and her supporters “slobbering idiots.” Blann derided Trump as an “orange idiot” and “dumbass.” As for Lake, Blann accused her of grifting and being an “opportunistic narcissist.”

Last Friday, Blann posted a campaign video of Godbehere to his newly-created Vimeo account. A day later, on Saturday, Godbehere’s campaign sent out the video in a campaign email.

“It’s Gina. I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting my candidacy for Maricopa County Attorney last time. After months of praying and receiving phone calls from across the valley, I had to come forward one more time to try to fight for the safety of our community. I ask all of you to join me in that fight. I know and you know that we’re

not protecting law enforcement, we’re not holding offenders accountable, and we’re not protecting victims of crime. In order for me to do this, to have a safer, more secure county for all of us, I’m going to need your help. Please go to my link, sign my E-Qualify today and help me qualify for the ballot.”

Godbehere ran previously for the county attorney in 2022. She announced her renewed effort for the seat in February.

Blann’s choice of Republican leadership appears to swing left. Blann has indicated that he voted for President Joe Biden.

“It’s always nice to cast a vote because ‘at least it’s not Trump,’” said Blann, in a comment to Biden posting a countdown of the days remaining until the 2020 election.

Blann also appears to be annoyed by the bad rap given to blue states for Democratic policies.

“I’ve traveled extensively across the country over the past two years, including all over California. ‘There’s crime everywhere’ is absolute baloney. California has no more apparent crime then [sic] Texas or Florida… there are bad sections of major cities. SAME. AS. TEXAS.”

Bland also was a supporter of COVID-19 mandates on masking, quarantining, and vaccinations.

“Maybe if you asshats would mask up, social distance and wash your hands for a month, we could kill this thing. But, you won’t,” said Bland. “It’s just a damn mask. I swear… these people act like they’re marching up San Juan Hill for liberty or something.”

“It seems simple… but so many continue to spread garbage science slamming the efficacy of masks and social distancing. Stick to the flat earth, people,” said Blann. “Please tell @dougducey to mandate masks.”

Even before the political upheaval of 2020, Blann was cozy with controversial Democratic politicians. He’s remained friends with former Flagstaff Mayor Coral Evans.
