Ron Shurts, owner of the Arizona Rattlers, will serve as Grand Marshal for Glendale’s 11th Annual Hometown Christmas Parade set for Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Everyone is invited to join Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers and Grand Marshal Ron Shurts, along with Rattlers players and staff, in participating in this family-friendly event that will take place in downtown Glendale between 52nd Avenue and 58th Avenue.
The parade has become a one of the largest in the west due to its Christ-centered focus on the “reason for the season.”
The all-volunteer parade organizing group consists of representatives from nonprofits, faith-based organizations, businesses, individuals, and the City of Glendale.
Although the parade is held in Glendale, the event has participants and sponsors from across the Valley that are all focused on one thing: celebrating the reason for the season.
Mayor Weiers is encouraging everyone to rally their friends and co-workers to celebrate Christmas in this annual Glendale tradition. Decorate your vehicle or a flatbed trailer, march in costume or get creative with wagons, golf carts and more.
Organizers say the parade is also a great way to promote your business or organization.
It’s all for a great cause. Last year, organizers of the Hometown Christmas Parade donated over $100,000 and thousands of pounds of food to Hope for Hunger Food Bank (https://phoenixrescuemission.org/hope-for-hunger) in Glendale.
