The Clerk of the Superior Court in Maricopa County has launched electronic filing (e-File) for Probate cases.

With this latest addition, the Clerk’s Office now offers e-File for every case type, including Criminal, Civil, Mental Health, Tax, Juvenile, Family, and now Probate.

“This new capability represents a major step forward in improving efficiency, community service, and, most importantly, access to justice,” said Joseph W. Malka, Clerk of the Superior Court for Maricopa County. “With the expansion of e-File to Probate cases, we eliminate the need for physical document submissions, reduce the burden on court staff, and speed up case processing. Attorneys and self-represented litigants no longer need to deliver paper copies or wait in line, and judicial officers receive filings faster, allowing them to rule more promptly.”

By expanding e-File services, the Clerk’s Office is also freeing up in-person resources at filing counters, benefiting litigants across all case types who require direct and more hands-on filing assistance.

“At the heart of our mission is connecting people to critical court services and guiding them through the legal system during challenging times,” added Clerk Malka. “By embracing technology like e-File, we ensure that Arizonans have timely, reliable, and convenient access to justice.”

The current Probate e-File capability is only for subsequent pleadings, and not for case-initiating documents or original Wills. Future updates will include case initiation and other efficiency updates.
