A red light runner, Ali Alebadi, has been indicted for a high-speed crash and pursuit that killed one person and seriously injured two others in Glendale.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, on March 22, 2026, Alebadi ran multiple red lights and reached speeds of more than 90 miles per hour while driving through downtown Glendale. His erratic driving resulted in two crashes. In the first, a patrol car pursuing Alebadi collided with a pickup truck. Then the defendant ran a red light at 51st and Glendale Avenues, hitting a car and killing the passenger.
A grand jury indicted Alebadi on multiple felony charges:
He is currently being held on a $3 million cash bond. Trial is set for April 2027.
