“Peace in Our Time”

Neville Chamberlin “Ditto” Barack Obama

Neville Chamberlin lived through World War I and was determined to avoid another war. Chamberlin’s policy of appeasement, recorded in the Munich Agreement, showed Hitler how toothless Britain and France were. Chamberlin’s appeasement allowed Hitler to annex the Czech region of Sudetenland. A year later, Hitler forcibly annexed Bohemia and Moravia. Five months later, Hitler invaded Poland: World War II began.

Barack Obama’s policy of appeasement, born as a distraction to his failed “Obamacare” health plan, takes Iran, according to the Wall Street Journal editorial (11/25/13, p. A16), “a giant step closer to becoming a de facto nuclear power.”

The so-called agreement calls for, first, disconnecting centrifuges capable of enriching uranium beyond 5% purity. The problem: we don’t know where all the centrifuges are located.

Second, the agreement prohibits Iran from installing any new centrifuges. The problem: we don’t know where all the centrifuge locations are.

Third, Iran can’t increase the number of enrichment facilities in the country. The problem: we don’t know where all the enrichment facilities are.

Fourth, daily inspections will be held at the Natanz and Fordow facilities. The problem: we don’t where all the other facilities are located.

Fifth, without knowing where all the enrichment sites are, Iran can still develop a nuclear weapon sooner rather than later.

Sixth, Iran and the United States publicly cannot agree on what they allegedly agreed to in the agreement itself.

In return for giving up nothing, Iran will receive loosened sanctions worth $6 to $7 billion. The agreement fails to bring Iran into compliance with international legal requirements spelled out in United Nations resolutions.

Barack Obama, today’s equivalent of Neville Chamberlin, agreed to an empty agreement. Iranians welcomed their Foreign Minister home for successfully denying the United States any of its demands. Israel and Saudi Arabia are claiming that the agreement is an existentialist threat against their countries. And Obama calls the agreement a success.

This is akin to an alleged comment by Vladimir Putin seen on various web sites that “negotiating with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon. The pigeon knocks over all the pieces, craps on the board, then struts around like it won the game.” If Putin didn’t say it, he should have.

Saudi Arabia is maintaining silence on the dubious agreement with Iran. Saudi spokesmen have previously stated that Saudi Arabia will have to develop its own nuclear weapons if Iran doesn’t give up on its nuclear weapons quest. Experts believe Iran can produce enough clandestine enriched uranium for a nuclear weapon in four to twelve weeks.

Obama has left Israel twisting in the wind. Republicans and Democrats in the Senate are pushing for stronger sanctions against Iran. Secretary of State John Kerry, on NBC’s Meet the Press, said, “We are not blind, and I don’t think we’re stupid.”

Kerry and Obama may think they are not stupid but the world does. The United States is viewed as a third world nation with a poltroon-ish banana dictator trying to divert attention from his Marxist takeover of the U.S. economy, including health care.

Alf Landon (courtesy of Donald Rumsfeld) once said, “When you’re in a bind, create a diversion.” Obama is in a major crisis with Obamacare. His diversion is an empty, unenforceable agreement with Iran, that gave Iran everything it wanted: no Iranian commitments regarding its ballistic missile program; no reference to ballistic missiles that could carry nuclear weapons; no admission as to all enriching locations; no admission as to where all the centrifuges are located; no admission as to all where all nuclear related facilities in Iran are located; and no agreement on what the countries allegedly agreed.

This so-called failed agreement ranks along side the failed Obamacare roll-out, the lies of Benghazi, Fast & Furious, the IRS, NSA spying on Americans, Obama’s total lack of credibility and trust . . . If Obama cannot even build a web site in less time than it took us to win World War II, what makes Obama think he can run health care in this country?
