Huckelberry works to end Election Integrity Commission

The Pima County Election Integrity Commission will meet today, Friday, July 11, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Herbert K. Abrams Building, Conference Room # 3108, located at 3950 S. Country Club Road, Tucson. The public is encouraged to attend.

Pima County Chuck Huckelberry no longer needs the window dressing of a politically crippled Election Integrity Commission! Facts are that the EIC was formed as a result of litigation surrounding the RTA election. Like an act of retaliation, Huckelberry filed a complaint with Attorney General Tom Horne to subvert his group’s efforts. Then he moves to have the attorney of record that represents the RTA litigation put on the agenda, and schedule an “executive session” for the upcoming July 11 commission meeting in an effort to discourage transparency. What an amazing show of arrogance by Huckelberry.

If Huckelberry want to stop something from happening in Pima County what he does is form a committee and put his opposition on it. Then he controls the agenda with his team and then pushes an extreme view of the open meeting laws. After a while you’re worried about more about what you can’t say than what you can say and who you can say it to. Many people have stated to me that they lost their voice.

Fact is most of the people on this commission are good, caring, knowledgeable in the subject of election integrity. However, their caught up in ‘anal’ controlling world Chuck Huckelberry.

They did nothing wrong! Google This “Huckelberry moves to intimidate Pima County Elections Integrity Commission” and get some real news! Not more than he said she said. The Election Division is one of the few parts of the Pima County government that Chuck Huckelberry personally supervises. Brad Nelson personally reports to Mr. Huckelberry. His hand on style and direct supervision is an important fact in this less than a mosquito issue where the commission members did no wrong. It is very interesting in the history of his supervision, however. Let’s look at one informative historical example. During the Pima County Democratic Party’s “database lawsuit” the Pima County Attorney’s Office asked Judge Michael Miller to halt the Democratic Party’s lawsuit because there was so much criminality in his election division that they concluded that “all” the county employees would assert the Fifth Amendment and hence the county could not defend the case because they feared that none of the employees would cooperate in an investigation. This statement was in writing in a formal motion filed with the court. That formal statement by the County’s lawyers is unprecedented in the United States. They were asking for a Stay Order because they couldn’t learn what was going on in the county’s own department because everyone, in their opinion, would refuse to cooperate out of fear of criminal prosecution. A truly stunning statement! Mr. Huckelberry later testified that he never investigated nor questioned the situation in the very division that he personally supervised.
