Yavapai County Sheriff Seeking Bagdad Arson Suspect

On February 12, 2018, around 7:20 a.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Palo Verde Road, Bagdad, regarding a suspicious fire inside the home. Deputies discovered that unknown suspect(s) had entered the home sometime between 2:30 a.m., and 6:00 a.m., that morning and intentionally set fire in several interior areas. Other damage to the home was also discovered.

An occupant of the home was awoken by a smoke odor and noticed smoke in the house. Initially there was concern a faulty appliance was responsible.  After checking around the home, it was determined someone had set fire at various locations within the home. Fortunately, none of the fires spread and fire department personnel arrived to make sure all flames had been extinguished.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s detectives have been assigned to the case and are seeking any information regarding a suspect or suspects in this case.
