Flake Demands Delay Of Vote On Kavanaugh

Never one to miss an opportunity to attack the Trump administration, Sen. Jeff Flake pounced on news that the sexual harassment accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has come forward. Flake announced after Ford’s name became public on Sunday that he is “not comfortable voting yes” on Kavanaugh now.

Flake, who sits on the Senate’s Judiciary Committee, said he wanted to hear from Ford.

Sen. Bob Corker jumped on the bandwagon and told Politico on Sunday that the panel should wait until Ford can meet with senators.

The two “NeverTrumpers, Flake and Corker, opted not to seek re-election due to their lack of support by voters in their home states. Ford’s allegation provides the two senators one last chance to derail the Trump administration’s agenda.

Ford, a donor to democrats, is a professor at Palo Alto University in California. She claims that Kavanaugh assaulted her when the two were in high school. Ford claims that a drunken Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed and groped her.

Both Kavanaugh and the other man Ford says was present when the assault occurred deny that it ever happened.
