Guillermo Castillo-Gonzalez, a previously deported Mexican national with extensive criminal history, was apprehended by Ajo Border Patrol agents. Castillo-Gonzalez illegally re-entered the U.S. near Lukeville, Arizona on Sunday.
Castillo-Gonzalez, who crossed the border with five other Mexican nationals, has been convicted of driving under the influence, battery, and several firearm offenses.
Castillo was sentenced to 100-months for his most serious gun offense.
Castillo and four of the other men arrested with him will also face additional charges for prior immigration violations.
