Tempe Attorney Disbarred After Shooting Girlfriend’s Former Boyfriend

A Tempe attorney, Joseph P. Palmisano, has been disbarred from the practice of law after entering a guilty plea for shooting and wounding his girlfriend’s former boyfriend, Ryan Hall, in April of 2013.

The Presiding Disciplinary Judge of the Arizona Supreme Court accepted a consent agreement between Palmisano and the State Bar of Arizona and ordered that Palmisano be disbarred from the practice of law, effective Mar. 29, 2019.

Palmisano entered a guilty plea to two criminal felony offenses in the Maricopa County Superior Court Case of State v. Joseph P. Palmisano. The criminal offenses were Aggravated Assault, a Class 3 Non-Dangerous Felony and Kidnapping, a Class 2 Non-Dangerous Felony.

On Mar. 22, 2019, Palmisano was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections.

Palmisano was also ordered to pay $1,200 to the State Bar of Arizona for the costs and expenses associated with disciplinary proceedings.
