Oro Valley Police Identify Teen Killed In Collision

Oro Valley – The victim in a fatal collision that occurred on July 14, 2019 has been identified as 19 year old Maya Smith Dolana. Just prior to the collision, Smith Dolana left a babysitting job and was driving her Toyota Prius westbound on Moore Road.

On July 13, 2019 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) responded to a report of a serious collision. Upon arrival officers located a head-on two vehicle collision.

Officers found one man outside his vehicle and one female trapped inside her vehicle. The man was transported to Banner University Medical Center. The female victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Oro Valley Police officers are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.

According to OVPD, “the male victim did not show any indication of impairment and there were no citations issued. The female victim’s name will be released once next of kin notifications have been completed.”
