WASHINGTON – During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday, Representative Andy Biggs raised the issue of permanent family separations as a result of the broken immigration laws. The hearing included witnesses from Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services.
Democrats held a hearing on family separation today. Guess what they didn’t want to talk about?

Family separations in USBP custody are very rare. The majority occur due to the parent’s criminal or gang history. We turn over the child to Health and Human Services as quickly as possible. HHS can then arrange appropriate placement with a sponsor. pic.twitter.com/fd2Bj5R4Et

While Representative Greg Stanton ignored the “Angel parents,” he acknowledged that there is a crisis on the southern border, which began during the Obama administration, he blamed the GOP. “I’m trying to better understand how this administration and the agencies that carry out this practice believe this is acceptable. Securing the border and treating children humanely are not competing values and this administration’s family separation practice deeply concerns me.”

Although the number of people in our custody has decreased, I reminded Congress yesterday that the crisis is not over. pic.twitter.com/6DNby1v6Rf
