Biggs, Stanton Take Different View Of Family Separations

WASHINGTON – During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday, Representative Andy Biggs raised the issue of permanent family separations as a result of the broken immigration laws. The hearing included witnesses from Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services.

While Representative Greg Stanton ignored the “Angel parents,” he acknowledged that there is a crisis on the southern border, which began during the Obama administration, he blamed the GOP. “I’m trying to better understand how this administration and the agencies that carry out this practice believe this is acceptable. Securing the border and treating children humanely are not competing values and this administration’s family separation practice deeply concerns me.”
