57-Year-Old Tucson Woman Nab For Smuggling Meth Worth $142K

CBP officers discovered 158 pounds of meth hidden inside of a vehicle that was attempting to enter the U.S. through the Port of Nogales in Arizona.

TUCSON – A 57-year-old Tucson woman is in custody after being caught by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Port of Nogales with more than 158 pounds of methamphetamine.

CBP officers discovered 158 pounds of meth hidden inside of a vehicle she was driving when she attempted to enter the U.S. through the Port of Nogales in Arizona.

CBP Officers at the Dennis DeConcini Crossing referred the unidentified woman for further inspection of her Mercury sedan when she attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico early Monday morning. The search led to the discovery of meth throughout the vehicle. The value of the packages was estimated to have a value of more than $142,000.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle.
