TUCSON – Motorcyclist Christopher M. Wright was identified as the victim of a fatal collision that occurred on August 20, 2019, just before 6:00 p.m., at the intersection of E. Golf Links Road and S. Kolb Road, in Tucson.

According to Tucson Police, through interviews conducted by officers and detectives, it was learned that a white 2004 Buick SUV was traveling westbound on Golf Links Road. The Buick was in the left-turn lane waiting to turn south onto Kolb Road. Mr. Wright, riding a black 2008 Yamaha motorcycle was eastbound on Golf Links Road in the curb lane.

The traffic light was green for east and westbound traffic when the Buick made a left hand turn in front of the motorcycle. The vehicles collided and Mr. Wright was thrown from his motorcycle. Mr. Wright was wearing a helmet at the time and landed in the roadway. The driver of the Buick stopped immediately and cooperated with the investigation.

A DUI officer responded to the scene and determined that the driver of the Buick was not impaired at the time of the collision.

The motorcyclist has been identified as 34 year-old Christopher M. Wright.

Interviews in conjunction with roadway evidence indicate that speed was not a factor in the collision. The investigation is on-going and no charges or citations have been issued.
