PIMA COUNTY – Law enforcement officials are investigating the death of a Pima County corrections officer at approximately 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday.
The officer “suffered a fatal injury” while on duty at the Pima County Superior Court, located at 110 W. Congress St.
According to Pima County Sheriff Mark Napier, the death happened in a secure area. The corrections officer was alone at the time. Authorities do not believe his injuries were caused by another person.
Sheriff Napier asked the press and public not to speculate as to the circumstances of the death and respect the grieving process of the officer’s colleagues.
