The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has identified Corrections Officer Brian Krumm as the staff member who suffered a fatal gunshot injury on Wednesday.
Corrections Officer Krumm was a 13 year veteran of the Department.
According to Pima County Sheriff Mark Napier, the death happened in a secure area in the underground parking garage. Officer Krumm was alone at the time. Authorities do not believe his injuries were caused by another person.
Sheriff Napier asked the press and public not to speculate as to the circumstances of the death and respect the grieving process of Officer Krumm’s colleagues.
