Tempe Fire Captain Killer Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison

PHOENIX – Hezron Parks, who had been found guilty of shooting and killing Tempe Fire Capt. Kyle Brayer last year, was sentenced on Monday afternoon to 20 years in prison for second degree murder.

Captain Brayer was off-duty early February 3, 2018, when he was shot and killed by Parks.

Hezron Parks, described by Scottsdale Police as an aggressive driver, was driving his vehicle into golf cart in which Brayer was a passenger. When Brayer, who was sitting in the back of the cart, approached Parks, Parks shot Brayer in the head.
