The vehicle failed to yield for an immigration related traffic stop on federal Route 1 near Ajo. The aliens attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

At about the same time, Border Patrol agents working at the state Route 85 immigration checkpoint near Ajo arrested a Phoenix man for smuggling two illegal aliens in the trunk of his Mitsubishi Mirage.
