Why do we need more people? We don’t. We’re Planet Earth’s 3rd Largest Nation!
Of all the arguments I’ve reviewed the last 10 years favoring stepped-up border security, none have mentioned that America is the Planet’s 3rd largest nation-state, by population. Yep, hiding right there in plain sight, huh?
There’s India, China, and the United States of America (that’s us, #3!). Granted, India & China have well over a billion people, but the United States is no slackerd with its 332+ million people.
Since Teddy Kennedy’s seminal immigration bill, the Refuge Act of 1980, we’ve allowed some ~13,000,000 legal immigrants into the country. But in the last 21 months, since Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. took office (1/20/21), it’s been estimated by FAIR, the Federation for American Immigration Reform, some 4,900,000+ illegal invaders have crossed our borders. Nearly 5 million border invaders.
So let’s get real here for a moment: what are the 4 REAL REASONS for America’s lackadaisical approach to border security?
Reason #1 Economic: Employers want cheap labor. The US Government wants more people paying into that honeypot of honeypots, the Social Security trust fund (yes, they’ve plugged the illegals’ loophole). This does not include the H-1B+O-1 Visa, so highly prized in Silicon Valley by tech companies, and limited to minimal holders/year.
Reason #2 Religious: All 4 major US religions, Catholic, Protestant, Mormon, and Evangelical, want more congregants; the Catholics are in the lead because the main source, Central America, is 90%+ Catholic. Nobody officially says they want more invaders (but they all secretly do). Heck, I’m still waiting for the Pope to declare contraception (i.e. rubbers, IUD, the pill, the patch, diaphragm, et al) is officially OK, and you won’t go to Hell. Don’t hold your breath here.
Reason #3 Political: This is a one-sided argument. High tax states are LOSING TONS OF RESIDENTS, thus, congressional seats. Illegals fill this need. Yes, that’s right …illegal invaders can be counted for “official US Census congressional district tabulations.” Why do you think NYC is such a melting pot? (the sanitized version). We should make them a federally-chartered city state, and demand payment for the franchise.
Reason #4 National Security (for Mexico): “National security for Mexico” is national security for the US southern border. This is coming whether the Mexicans like it or not; you’re one shopping mall suicide-terrorist away, like the beginning of Dia de los Soldados-Sicario 2, or something worse. Plus, the US has serious NatSec assets in the 4 border states; like military bases, ports, testing grounds, 2 national laboratories, and lots of MilTech manufacturing. Stuff our global competitors would really love to disrupt. In the US, these security professionals are doing yeoman’s work.
So there you have it; pick your poison….
…or maybe the simple best reason: we’re already Earth’s 3rd largest country (out of 195); why do we need more people?
