Few politicians and politicos ventured out on social media after former President Trump announced he had been indicted on federal charges. The former president has been charged with at least seven counts involving obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and illegal retention of classified government material.

Mr. Trump has been ordered to appear in federal court in Miami on Tuesday.

“President Trump is indicted on the day we unveiled significant findings related to Joe Biden’s corruption. Makes you wonder,” tweeted Congressman Andy Biggs.

“We ought to defund and dismantle the DOJ. I stand with President Trump,” added Biggs.

“This is a serious indictment, and as such it shouldn’t be handled lightly,” tweeted Congressman Ruben Gallego. “As I’ve stated previously, we must respect the rule of law and let the legal process play out.”

“A two-tiered justice system that’s been weaponized by a single party and cheered on by the media is an unprecedented danger to our country. This election interference is un-democratic and anti-American. This is simply about power. Travesty of the rule of law,” tweeted Abe Hamadeh, Republican nominee for Arizona Attorney General.

“You can’t really call it the Department of “Justice” anymore,” tweeted conservative political consultant Sam Stone.
