The ‘Regina Romero Regime’ Has Failed Tucson

Good leaders have an instinctive sense of what their stewardship entails; …regarding the enterprise in question, and if that enterprise is ailing, what it needs in order to be cured.  Tucson’s mayoral Regina Romero Regime (Triple-R), has failed in nearly every measure of that evaluation.  They may be, honestly …in such abject denial that anything is wrong at all.

Yet, the event-horizon of an ‘urban doom loop’ beckons; one the city is clearly circling towards.

First of all, she comes to the Mayor’s office from an intemperate position and arrogant mindset of anger, one laced with the anti-male, anti-Anglo vitriol of “we gonna get ours” kind of sexual & racial animus.  Something not seen since the civil rights era of her mentor, a youthful Che Guevara clone, one Raul Grijalva.

Added to this is the strong pagan philosophical presence of inner Tucson’s breathtakingly anti-growth, Neo-Druid establishment.  One personified by the local $8-figure/yr. shakedown artist-in-residence, the enviro-lawsuit Godzilla, CBD, i.e. the Center for Bio-Diversity.  Romero served there as some kind of Earth-Goddess-Acolyte-in-Training, while purporting to represent the poor (i.e. Ward 1) on the Tucson City Council.  Her Latino Catholic constituents are largely ignorant of CBD’s pagan agenda of worshipping Mother Earth, among its other sensual pleasures.

CBD’s financial supporters read like a Who’s Who of rich, white, guilt-ridden liberals who have just another trophy house up in the (unincorporated) Catalina Foothills.  Insecure people who crave constant virtue signaling and throwing soirees for their rich friends of similar mindset.

All in support of this or that Lefty cause, upon which to inflict their sophistication upon the City’s ‘great unwashed’, i.e. Tucson’s poor, uncredentialed, and those lacking economic opportunity.  Yeah, running off businesses & enterprise like Rosemont, Rodolfo, and Grand Canyon University has finally started to take a toll on Tucson’s reputation.  Raytheon , Honeywell, Roche and others can’t help but take the hint.

Triple-R’s candidacy was a genuine social godsend for this wacky, elitist crowd to “see and be seen.”   Of course, all concealed from Ward 1, in very Grijalva-machine fashion.

Like Triple-R herself, all these rich, credentialed, self-entitled people are terribly serious about themselves; so serious they’re oblivious to their own colossal incompetence to inflict suffering.  They know zippity-do-dah about the inner workings of organic capitalism, let alone anything about practical urban growth strategies in the techno-dominant 21st century.

Theirs is a world where more & more government largesse makes everything happen. Here’s a newsflash: that Piscean fantasy is rapidly drawing to a close for a variety of reasons far beyond Tucson’s borders.  Incidentally, nobody in any serious civic leadership capacity can see any further, either.

I’m not even going to mention how Triple-R’s city government has failed to stem the tide of rising municipal disorder, squalor, and out-and-out criminality.  Something looking very much like what happened to Albuquerque, circa 1990-2010.

Do yourselves a favor Tucson, send a message and boot-out Triple-R on November 7th; send her and the gang back to the CBD ‘garden of earthly delights.’  Maybe some local starving artist in the City’s fabled arts community can paint us another X-rated Bosch triptych when she’s gone.
