Governor Katie Hobbs is outraged over the purchase of Lego sets with ESA money:
“Your taxpayer dollars are being used to buy $500 Lego sets because partisan politicians refuse to place limits on school vouchers.
It is time to end this wasteful, runaway spending by passing real accountability & transparency measures. ⬇️”
In response, Mesa Public Schools’ governing board member Rachel Walden pointed out that her “board voted 4 to 1 to buy gaming laptops so kids can play video games for the video game E-sports League.”

But there is more…
Once again, no ESA parent spent $500 on a Star Wars Lego set. Paid union activist Beth Lewis shared a deceptively photoshopped Facebook screenshot. They inserted a picture of a $560 Lego set to make it look like ESA parents purchased it or suggested purchasing it.
