Phoenix journalist Sean Campbell has issued a cease and desist letter to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) over their defamatory remarks against him.

Last week, CAIR accused Campbell of facilitating a death threat against Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). It appears CAIR clipped the video of the X Space at the heart of their claim to fit their allegations, featuring a vague threat issued by an anonymous user named “George,” who was promptly reprimanded and booted from the X Space.

Later, Campbell announced that his counsel issued a cease and desist to both CAIR National and CAIR Arizona demanding a retraction and apology. Campbell revealed that the two organizations’ false accusations against him had resulted in death threats, and loss of his role as a contributor as well as income.

Campbell further petitioned X CEO Elon Musk to take affirmative action to rectify the situation.

“Spaces should not be weaponized to defame journalists, and risk personal safety,” said Campbell. “I will use legal avenues against all parties who seek to slander my family name for profit margins and the advancement of political agendas.”

Neither CAIR National or CAIR Arizona have yet removed the offending posts. Campbell’s counsel gave the organization three days prior to taking legal action.

In response to critics, Campbell said that the defamatory labels of “enemy of Islam” and “activist” have jeopardized his career and personal safety.

Campbell has frequently reported on the pro-Hamas activists. Over the weekend, he shared an update on Saiaf Abdallah, CEO of Voyage Medical, who was arrested at the Tlaib protest at Arizona State University. Abdallah has been behind the organized protests at Arizona malls, and has been involved with CAIR Arizona.

Campbell also covered the Arizona malls during the pro-Hamas protestors attempting to disrupt Black Friday shoppers by holding “die-ins.”

Campbell also covered the ASU protest against Tlaib’s cancelled appearance.

Conversely, Tlaib was discovered not to just be an invited guest listening in, but a member of a private Facebook group glorifying Hamas terrorism. CAIR Arizona and CAIR National didn’t weigh in on that particular finding concerning Tlaib.
