On Friday, January 24, 2025, at approximately 5:34 a.m., the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single vehicle collision in the area of S. Avenue 34E and E. County 7th Street.
The initial investigation revealed a 2006 Nissan Frontier was traveling southbound on S. Avenue 34E when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway. The vehicle rolled over onto the shoulder of the road, causing the driver to be ejected.
The driver, identified as Buddy Wayne Clatone, 44, of Wellton, AZ, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. It is unknown at this time if impairment is a factor in this collision.
