University of Arizona’s Donation From Jeffrey Epstein Exposed

The University of Arizona (U of A) led the public to believe it had not knowingly accepted a donation from infamous human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

A new trove of Epstein files obtained by FOIAzona revealed that U of A not only knew Epstein made the $50,000 donation, but that they also coordinated and assisted him with making the donation, gave him public recognition for the donation, and offered to arrange a hotel room for him.

However, U of A told a reporter with the Arizona Republic in 2019 that they had no awareness of Epstein’s involvement in the donation because it was “a one-time anonymous gift.”

Email records revealed U of A professor Stuart Hameroff contacted Epstein in March 2017 about funding a program through the Center for Consciousness Studies, which Hameroff cofounded and directs. Hameroff, a retired anesthesiologist, also cochairs the Science of Consciousness, and is professor emeritus of the Anesthesiology and Psychology departments.

Without any information given about the program conference, Epstein pledged a $50,000 minimum.

“Who are the speakers and what is the cost,” asked Epstein. “I’m in for at least 50k, before knowing anything.”

It is likely that Epstein was quick to commit funding prior without much information because the two men shared a personal relationship, and because Epstein had previously shown interest in Hameroff’s studies into consciousness.

Emails from 2016 revealed Hameroff and his partner at the time, Betsy Higbee, stayed at one of Epstein’s apartments in New York and spent time with Epstein in his home over the Halloween weekend. It is unclear what their shared plans entailed, but Hameroff told Epstein it was “memorable” and thanked him.

“We appreciate you staying up late with an early flight,” said Hameroff. “We were tired too, but it was a memorable night.”

About a month prior to Hameroff’s sponsorship request email, Epstein’s friend, investment banker Robert Lawrence Kuhn, emailed Epstein about some of Hameroff’s work that Kuhn advised, the Shanghai Science of Consciousness Program.

Hameroff was just one strand in a web of the widespread transhumanist research network Epstein funded and entertained, as noted by author Bryant McGill.

Hameroff’s assistant and presently the Center for Consciousness Studies assistant director, Abi Behar Montefiore, arranged the $50,000 donation with Epstein’s accountant, Richard Kahn, via subsequent emails in April. Kahn requested the donation be sent to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and Behar Montefiore offered the University of Arizona Foundation.

FOIAzona found the $50,000 check to the University of Arizona Foundation was postmarked with Epstein’s name and his charity, Gratitude America.

In May emails, Behar Montefiore advised Kahn that Epstein would be promoted as a conference sponsor with banners and program ads. In another email, Hameroff offered to reserve a hotel room for Epstein.

Epstein’s charity was thanked as a sponsor for that year’s conference.

Hameroff again petitioned Epstein for another donation in 2018. No records have been uncovered confirming whether Epstein sponsored the annual conference.

  1. Are UofA profs engaged in ‘TRANSHUMANISM’ studies, trying to recreate Aldous Huxley’s, “Brave New World,” where human beings are genetically engineered? Seems so.

  2. If Arizona ever reined in the fraud and crookedness related to UofA and ASU the economy of Arizona would soar and taxes could be cut significantly.

  3. Epstein ? is that a disease? Epstein Syndrome – seems to be going around – is there a vaccine?
