15-Year-Old Indicted for Fatal Shooting at Desert Sky Mall

Guillermo Guzman, age 15, has been charged with second-degree murder, standing accused of shooting and killing a 17-year-old and hurt another teen at Phoenix’s Desert Sky Mall on June 2.

According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, on June 2nd, Phoenix Police responded to a shots fired call inside the Desert Sky Mall in West Phoenix. According to witnesses, the two victims were working at a kiosk selling hats and cologne when the defendant became aggressive and began to taunt the group before shooting at them. In addition to the two victims who were injured, three other victims were also in the line of fire. After an initial investigation, Phoenix Police was able to locate and arrest Guzman.

Guzman was indicted on the following:

  • 1 count of Second-Degree Murder, a Class One Dangerous Felony
  • 4 counts of Aggravated Assault, a Class Three Dangerous Felony
  • 1 count of Disorderly Conduct, a Class Six Dangerous Felony
  • Guzman is currently in custody on a $1 million secured appearance bond.
