Agents Near Parker Canyon Lake Busy With Arizona Human Smugglers

Eleven Mexican nationals, one Guatemalan, and three U.S. citizens were arrested on Sunday by Border Patrol agents near Parker Canyon Lake, 29 miles south of Sonoita.

Nine of the aliens have prior immigration violations. They may face additional charges for re-entry after removal from the country.

Agents conducting an immigration inspection of the occupants of a blue Nissan SUV discovered eight people in the vehicle.

Two U.S. citizens from Arizona, a female driver, age 59, and male front seat passenger, age 41, were arrested for human smuggling. The six illegal aliens found inside the vehicle were arrested for immigration violations.

Agents later performed a vehicle stop on a brown Buick Enclave, driven by a 48 year-old Tucson woman. Agents discovered six Mexican nationals, four men and two women, inside the vehicle, who were illegally present in the United States.
