Ducey Calls Biden Administration Mask Mandates, Response To Afghanistan “Weak And Pathetic”

President Biden directed the Department of Education to use its legal authority against governors, like Doug Ducey, who are supporting personal choice and refusing to impose mask mandates on children.

Phoenix, AZ – On Thursday, Gov. Doug Ducey called the Biden Administration’s attempt to intimidate Republican governors and force mask mandates, “weak and pathetic.”

The governor was responding to a question specifically about U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona’s letter to Ducey in which he criticized Arizona’s ban on mask mandates.

“Did you read the letter?” Ducey asked. “The letter was weak and pathetic. Just like the Biden administration is weak and pathetic on the Border. Weak and pathetic on the collapse in Afghanistan. Weak and pathetic on the COVID response, and weak and pathetic on the Phoenix Police Department and Chief Jerry Williams. That’s the Biden administration. Why don’t they focus on their day jobs? Take care of the nation’s borders, and help Americans leave Afghanistan, and leave schools to the states. That’s how the constitution reads.”

The Biden administration has been reeling from the fall out from the inept pull out of Afghanistan.

The administration has been very aggressive in its attacks on Arizona in particular. The Department of Justice announced this summer that is was investigating the Phoenix Police Department in part for its treatment of homeless persons’ belongings.
