Woman Charged for Deadly Road Rage Shooting in Phoenix

On April 6, 2026, 24-year-old Heather Arriaga, was booked on an arrest warrant in connection with the death of Stephen Guardino.

According to witnesses, Arriaga shot and killed the 54-year-old a man after he allegedly spat on her during a September road-rage incident.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were called to the shooting scene at the intersection of Missouri Avenue and 7th Avenue just after 2:00 p.m. on September 27, 2025.

As officers arrived in the area, they found an adult male, later identified as Guardino suffering from a serious gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he later died as a result of his injury.

Detectives learned that Guardino was driving in the area and exited his vehicle to confront Arriaga who was inside her vehicle. Arriaga was stopped at the intersection of Missouri Avenue and 7th Avenue. She shot Guardino from inside her car and had stayed on scene to speak with officers.

Arriaga was interviewed and later released pending further investigation.
