Alleged Phoenix Home Invader Shot Dead

An alleged home invader was shot dead by a resident in a Phoenix home.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on April 18, 2026, at approximately 3:18 a.m., officers responded to the area of 74th Avenue and Pueblo Avenue regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male, identified as 25‑year‑old Isaac Cordova‑Fregoso, inside a nearby home with at least one gunshot wound. Life‑saving measures were attempted, but Cordova‑Fregoso did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Phoenix Police Department detectives believe that Cordova‑Fregoso forced entry into the home and was confronted by the occupants, at which point the shooting occurred. The shooter in this incident was identified and interviewed. The account provided by the shooter was consistent with the findings at the scene, and the individual was released pending further investigation.
