A number of marijuana brands are being voluntarily recalled due to possible Aspergillius contamination.
According to the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), during a routine lab inspection at Full Spectrum Lab, ADHS Laboratory inspectors observed failed testing records for Aspergillus that were reported to marijuana establishments as a passing test. As a result of this information, marijuana establishments are voluntarily recalling specific products due to possible contamination.
Aspergillus is a fungus that can cause allergic reactions or infection, usually in people with pre-existing conditions (i.e.underlying lung conditions or weakened immune systems).
The products being voluntarily recalled are Forever 46, LLC, Grease Monkey, batch number GMon-250923.0001-W39; Arizona Golden Leaf Wellness, Lucilicious, batch number 20250922R2ALLC7; Arizona Golden Leaf Wellness, Trop Cherry, batch number 20250929R2BTRPC; Arizona Golden Leaf Wellness, Orange Sherbert, batch number 20251006R3OSHRB; and TRU Infusion/Natures Wonder, Hammerhead, batch number 1014R37HH.
To date, no illnesses have been reported. This announcement is being made out of an abundance of caution. Consumers with pre-existing conditions who have purchased potentially contaminated products should not ingest, inhale, or otherwise consume them and should dispose of them. If you have already consumed any of the products and have any of the symptoms described below, please contact your healthcare provider or seek care immediately in the event of an emergency.
Once the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) discovered the potential contamination, they contacted the facilities that produced the products. The licensees took immediate action to work with all distribution and retail partners to remove any potentially impacted products from store shelves.
Possibly contaminated products are quarantined at the point of sale until secondary confirmatory testing is completed.
