McCain issues threat to Arizonans; considering 2016 run

mcainSen. John McCain appeared on the Barry Young Show today announcing that he is indeed considering another Senate run in 2016. The senior senator will be 80-years-old by that time and apparently, he has a pressing need to remain relevant – at least in his own mind.

A section of McCain’s interview from Young’s show on KFYI can be heard in the following link:  Sen. McCain on Barry Young Show

Though the entire interview is not included in the link, it is interesting to note that Arizona’s senior senator is behaving in his carefully prepared, mild-mannered grandpa tone to address someone named ‘Kyle,’ who may not be such a fan of the oh-so Maver-icky One. McCain sums up his thoughts with ‘Kyle’ by inviting him to attend one of his townhalls to discuss a matter further. As ADI has reported as recently as August 2013, McCain is known for carefully staging his events and being rather selective about whom he will actually call on during public discussions. After all, if the event is not staged, Kyle could be on the receiving end of the Real McCain as demonstrated at this public event in February 2013: The REAL McCain confronted by REAL constituents

Interesting to note that in some news circles, there is speculation that if McCain runs in 2016, he will be targeted by tea party groups. If only that had been the case in 2010. Instead, Tucson Tea Party adopted a neutral stance when it came to the Senate primary race between Sen. John McCain and former Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth, and even some morning radio hosts were actively supporting McCain on their shows presenting the senator as the only candidate who could beat whoever the Democrat challenger would be, which was former Tucson City Councilman Rodney Glassman.

Arizonans were also told that McCain had to be returned to the Senate in order to lead the charge against Obama and overturn Obamacare. How many Facebook fights were fought over the idea that McCain had a great deal of power in the Senate and was the only one who could fight Obama? In fact, McCain led that charge himself through his campaign along with appearing at the side of Sheriff Paul Babeu in an ad to build that dang fence. Three years later, and there is still no dang fence – and won’t be since that job will be left up to the Dept. of Homeland Security at will in proposed immigration reform legislation. We appear to be gathering in the hand basket destined for Hell over Obamacare, and McCain did anything but stop it; in fact, he repeatedly said it is the law of the land, elections have consequences, yada yada yada…apparently having a senior moment and forgetting that a charge against Obamacare was waged and won by tea party, which prompted congress to be in the charge of the GOP in 2010. Perhaps that particular election does not register with Sen. McCain since it was an ‘off’ year.

What does register is that the ‘fight’ McCain said he would wage is indeed being fought, but not against Obama. McCain has reserved his most brutal fights against those in his own party and state. While calling for civility and politeness, Sen. McCain has no problem calling Ted Cruz and Rand Paul ‘wacko birds,’ or calling constituents ‘jerks’ for daring to challenge his falsehoods regarding amnesty, border security and Syria. While McCain declared on the campaign trail in 2008 that Obama was a good man that no one had to fear, he was quite caustic in his attacks on fellow Republican J.D. Hayworth in 2010. In fact, Mr. Campaign Finance Reform had to spend $25 million in order to smear Hayworth in a most disgusting display of deceptions, distortions and outright falsehoods. With the recent government shutdown, who did McCain reserve his harshest criticism for? Hint: It was not directed toward Sen. Harry Reid or Obama.

Perhaps the most disgusting display in all of this is that Sen. John McCain has been so obsessed with representing the interests of those who have entered this country illegally that he will ignore the constituents who pay his bloated salary – the constituents who have to live with the effects of a porous border; the constituents whose ranches, homes, livestock, businesses, families – in fact, their very lives – are put at risk 24/7 because they have no representation in congress, no voice with either Senator, and no protection from the very government their taxes support. Let’s not even mention the economic cost to the state of Arizona – let alone the nation – because of the government’s failure to enforce current immigration law. Ironically, the same government claiming ‘the system is broken’ is the very body responsible for ‘breaking’ it – and McCain was a part of it. Now, he wants to ‘fix’ it.

An equally disgusting aspect in all of this is McCain’s willingness to exploit those in this country illegally. One cannot help but wonder how many pieces of silver the senator will receive from his corporate fat-cat associations salivating at the opportunity to enslave an entire class of people for the sake of lowered wages and political fodder.

Arizona – 2016 is still some time away, but you need to seriously consider an alternative. Will you continue to reward a man who has done nothing but fight you all the way – belittle you, lie to you, ignore you, take your for granted and compromise your jobs, security and nation? Will you finally look at his actions and words for the threats they are and now, fight for your state and your country by telling Sen. McCain, ‘Thank you for your service; now, it’s time to ‘move forward.'” – A little lingo there from his new best friend in the White House.

Imagine how different our state and our nation would be if Sen. McCain would only have fought Obama in 2008 as hard as he fights against you today!
