More than meets the eye in ATF, Dobyns ruling

jay-dobynsOn November 26, after U.S. Court of Federal Claims Judge Francis M. Allegra voided his decision to award former ATF agent Jay Dobyns $173,000 based on the ATF’s failure to protect him after his years of undercover service, Dobyns told his supporters on Facebook, “More than what meets the eye here. It will shake itself out. No worries. I’m built for this.”

According to an article in the Arizona Republic by Paul Giblin, Allegra, “who issued a 54-page decision in favor of that ex-agent, Jay Dobyns, in August, voided his decision on Oct. 29, according to a court notice filed Nov. 5.”

Giblin reports that Allegra’s notice does say why he voided his decision. According to Giblin, the judge sealed other court documents.

At the time of Allegra’s award the feds said they intended to appeal case. The case continues.

Dobyns told Matthew Perez, reporting for the ADI in February of this year, “In 2008 following the arson of my home I notified ATF headquarters executives by policy using their internal channels that corrupt ATF managers in Phoenix were trying to frame me for the attempted murder of my family. Those executives ignored me and ultimately those same managers were permitted to stay on the job and go on and oversee Operation Fast and Furious… The DOJ strategy to defend my truthful allegations was to deny the truth and morph the truth to counter sue me and hope to out resource me in an attempt to create a financial forfeit on my part. This is how Eric Holder’s DOJ with the words Justice in its title handles Americas business and treats our law enforcement officers.”
