Religious extremists of the Church of Climatology

The left-wing supports of the so-called Church of Climatology (rhymes with scientology) are at it again. Representative Raul Grijalva sent threatening letters to seven academics who question the existence of “global warming,” “climate change,” or the fallacious doctrine of the Church of Climatology.

Grijalva’s unethical behavior as a representative and boorish behavior as an adult earned him a condemnation by the American Meteorological Society (AMS), charging that targeting scientists whose scientific opinion differs is a threat to free inquiry.

One of Grijalva’s targets was Dr. Roger Piekle Jr. of the University of Colorado. In Dr. Pielke’s blog, he writes:

“A group called the Energy & Environment Legal Group has filed state freedom of information act requests modeled on the Rep. Grijalva letter with 4 universities (Colorado, Arizona, Delaware, Georgia Tech) requesting funding information from 5 researchers. This is obviously a retaliatory act, legitimized by Rep. Grijalva’s campaign. It is just as wrong-headed.”

And, “When you label someone as ‘anti-science’ because they support different policy choices than you prefer, you are indeed arguing ‘that economic interests, ideological preferences, or political considerations have no place in policy choices.’” Grijalva’s actions and behavior remind be of the Fascist Black Shirts.

Church of Climatology followers Barbara Boxer, Ed Markey and Sheldon Whitehouse attempted the same clumsy tactic sending 107 letters to various think tanks, trade associations and companies about their funding. CATO Institute President John Allison relied in a letter to the three apostles that, “It surprises nobody that you disagree with CATO’s views on climate change – among a host of issues – but that doesn’t give you license to use the awesome power of the federal government to cow us . . .”

In 2009, hackers published thousands of emails from East Anglia University in which so-called climate scientists openly discussed the need and methods of manipulating data to support the notion of climate change. Barbara Boxer, in response to colleagues’ calls for reviewing the emails before passing any related legislation, stated she was more interested in prosecuting the people who published the emails rather than investigate the fraudulent scientific data . . . So much for Barbara Boxer’s integrity.

And once again, Al Gore shows us his unbiased self at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas: “We need to put a price on carbon to accelerate these market trends. And in order to do that, we need to put a price on denial in politics,” says Gore. “We have this denial industry cranked up constantly. In addition to 99 percent of the scientists and all the professional scientific organizations, now Mother Nature is weighing in.”

Gore was stating that smart investors are investing in alternative energy companies and he wanted to accelerate these market trends. Only these are not market trends but government investment or loan guarantees. That’s where Gore makes his dark money. And Gore wants to get rid of his opposition by putting a price on denial in politics.  Maybe we should put a price on denial of reality: Gore would declare immediate moral bankruptcy. He has been erratic since losing the presidency in 2000.

Gore goes on to say that 99% of the scientists and all the professional scientific organizations agree. This is a blatant lie. Joseph Bast, President of the Heartland Institute, and Dr. Roy Spencer, principal research scientist for the University of Alabama and the U.S. Science Teal Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer on NASA’s Aqua satellite, wrote in a 2014 Wall Street Journal op-ed, “There is no basis for the claim that 97% [or 99%] of scientists believe that man-made climate change is a dangerous problem.” Can you imagine that this reality denier, Al Gore, could have had his finger on the nuclear button?

Dr. Timothy Ball is a prominent environmental consultant and former climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He earned a doctorate in climatology from the University of London, Queen Mary College, England. Dr. Ball is a leader in the current global warming debate and appears regularly as a guest on radio and television.

In his 2014 book, “The Deliberate Corruption of Climate Science,” Dr. Ball flatly stated that, “It [global warming, climate change] is the greatest deception in history and the extent of the damage has yet to be exposed and measured.”

The atmosphere is three-dimensional and dynamic, so building a computer model that even approximates reality requires far more data than exists and much greater understanding of an extremely turbulent and complex system.”

The merchants of smear, all followers of the Church of Climatology and all left-wing ideologue Democrats, sling their claims of “settled science” as if science was settled; instead, “settled science” in climate-speak actually means “silent-science.” The merchants of smear do not want the truth to be told.”

Lo and behold, the church of climatology committed a dramatic error: Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is to change the economic model of the world, i.e., destroy capitalism, not save the environment. This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution.”*

Now the truth is told.  The merchants of fear are actually the enemy of free and open societies: the bigger the government, the smaller the people.
