Arizona Bar Member Suspended, Stems From Money Laundering

The Presiding Disciplinary Judge of the Arizona Supreme Court has issued an order imposing reciprocal discipline for R. Christopher Reade of Nevada. The action is a result of his suspension from the practice of law in Nevada.

Reade’s misconduct resulted in a felony conviction for one count of accessory after the fact to money laundering. He was sentenced to 366 days in prison and supervised release for up to three years.

The Order of Suspension was issued by the Supreme Court of the State of Nevada on Nov. 16, 2017. The Arizona Supreme Court filed its Order of Suspension on Jan. 9, 2018.

R. Christopher Reade’s four-year suspension is retroactive to Jan. 16, 2014.

Pursuant to Rule 57(b) of the Arizona Supreme Court, the Presiding Disciplinary Judge generally imposes identical or substantially similar discipline on a lawyer disciplined in another jurisdiction. Reade’s suspension in Nevada is the basis for the order suspending him in Arizona.
